Graphene’s unique combination of exceptional mechanical, electronic and thermal properties makes their material a promising source to enable next generation technology in a wide range of fields including electronics, energy and medicine. However educational activities involving Graphene, Graphene oxide and Reduced Graphene oxide have been limited due to the high expense and complexity associated with fabricating and characterizing Graphene. Uttarakhand Residential University has ventured in the direction of procuring of reduced Graphene oxide and Biofuel and take up the application aspects of reduced Graphene oxide in different areas.

  • The carbon material obtained from polymer and wild wastes and the generated reduced Graphene oxide have been used for production of solar lanterns. This device was launched by Shri Trivendra Singh Rawat, Hon’ble Chief Minister, Government of Uttarakhand in the gracious presence of Sri Ajay Tamta, Hon’ble State Minister of Textiles, Government of India, Dr. Dhan singh Rawat, Hon’ble Higher Education Minister, Government of Uttarakhand and other dignitaries. These dignitaries also launched the Alcohol Sensor device and showed satisfaction at its functioning.


  • Government of Uttarakhand has sanctioned a sum of Rupees 50 lacks for purchase of equipments of Graphene Synthesis Lab. Following two major equipments have been purchased and installed in the Lab.


  • 1- Fiber based Micro Raman with Detachable optics (RIFRM532)
  • 2- Fiber based Universal Spectrometer (RIUS)


  • Students of Biofuel are testing different herbal samples in the Lab on daily basis. Based on progress of research work University proposes to develop following devices in near future.
